At last weather is getting colder as now in June. Everyone is warm and humid while the chance of rain is present. I recognize that today has been a drastic change compared to all of Sindh, KP, Punjab, and Islamabad. Now let’s have a conversation about what is occurring, why it is significant, and how to be prepared. Description of Weather The Weather Report The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) noted that an establishment from the west is getting in bed with moisture-laden southern and easterly flow from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. This will overcast Islamabad and the area, so today was partly cloudy to overcast. Daytime highs can be mid 30s Celsius, but of course the stagnant air is so heavy with humidity. The PMD also reported that there are warnings for the nation’s weather. Rainfall warning and wind is predicted. Be careful on the roads.

It might rain more often in the middle to end of the week. In Islamabad, the Potohar Plateau, Upper and Central Punjab, and northern KP, there is a 50–60% chance of rain. There could be some rain and storms now and then. Officials indicated that regions that are prone to get them could see severe gusts or sudden rainstorms.

Things to Do in the Area
It will be cloudy and dull in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. It might rain during the day, which could make the ride to work soggy. Thunderstorms that happen on their own on hills like Murree can travel toward the city.

In the upper KP districts of Chitral, Swat, Dir, and Abbottabad, there could be storms that aren’t too bad, hail in higher locations, and strong winds.

In Punjab, Murree, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Gujranwala are all expected to have rain. There might be a few light thunderstorms in the middle plains, which would be a nice relief from the heat.

It will be dry and hot most of the day in Sindh. But later in the week, Jacobabad, Sukkur, and Larkana in upper Sindh might have some rain and wind.

Why This Matters: It will be nice and chilly after a long time of highs in the mid-30s to 40s°C.

Concerns for safety: Strong winds and sudden rain could cause floods or make driving dangerous in some areas, especially near hill roads and in the Potohar region.

Dengue Watch: After it rains, mosquitoes like to lay their eggs in puddles. People in Islamabad have given the go-ahead for fogging operations because they fear the risk of dengue is going up.

Rain is good for rabi and early Kharif crops, but farmers need to be ready for it and keep an eye on the weather.

How to get ready
You should bring a light raincoat or an umbrella with you.

If there are warnings of thunderstorms, stay away from slopes.

Check the drainage in cities before it rains a lot because some neighborhoods can flood quickly.

Drivers should move slower when there are puddles or icy roads.

A lot of water should be drunk. The humidity stays high even when the temperature drops.

Looking Forward
The western disturbance will be around all weekend for sure. This means that the weather will be bad and it will probably rain until Sunday at the earliest. The monsoon systems could develop stronger by the start of next week. If this happens, the Kharif season will start off with more rain in July.

In short, there is a change in weather. The clouds and rain are coming, and the sun is starting to set. Thunderstorms are also moving into Islamabad and KP, light showers are moving into Punjab, and northern Sindh may not be any hotter than other parts of the country. I also think about the monsoon season that is around the corner. Pakistan has suffered through long hot summers, but that will be soon coming to an end. Please be careful when it rains, take your time driving. You will be informed through local news, so hold on to your umbrella and use your best judgement.
