In a shocking public statement, gangster Goldy Brar has admitted he was behind the killing of Indian singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala. The confession, shared in a video circulating online, shows Brar unapologetic as he claims full responsibility for the murder.
“I did what I did. I have no regrets,” Brar says in the video, which is thought to have been shot in Canada, according to media.
Moose Wala, was shot and killed in May 2022, a day after his security was reduced. Multiple gunmen carried out the attack and many reported it as a targeted assassination. The later artist had a huge following and was considered a voice for Punjab’s youth.
Authorities had long suspected Brar — a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — was involved. His recent statement confirms their suspicions and renews pressure on Canadian authorities to take action.
International Pressure Mounts
India has formally requested Brar’s extradition, but the process has stalled amid diplomatic friction between New Delhi and Ottawa. The confession may lead to renewed legal efforts by Indian agencies.
Canadian officials have not commented publicly on the latest developments, but security analysts say Brar’s admission could be a turning point. Several Indian lawmakers are now urging for faster cooperation from Canada in criminal cases involving transnational gangs.
Public Demands Accountability
The killing of Sidhu Moose Wala had wide spread mourning and anger across the country. Moose Wala was not only known in the music scene, but he also entered politics just prior to his death. His supporters have been relentless in calling for justice, and Brar’s statement has now added fuel to the fire in those demands..
“This isn’t just about one person. It’s about making sure killers don’t feel safe behind borders,” said a family spokesperson.
The video, though unverified officially, has reignited debate over the reach of organized crime and the loopholes that allow fugitives to operate across borders.
